Similar to the Mystical Lenormand deck, the Mystical Kipper deck recreates and presents the traditional Kipper system in a new edition that highlights a new mystical vision.
Based on the cards and themes of the Kipper deck, the 36 cards of the Mystical Kipper deck were created, framed, and reproduced using the tempera technique, turning each card into a work of art with vibrant colors.
Illustrator Urban Trosch framed each card in its own unique frame, presenting a unique reality with elves, mythical creatures, and angels. We enter a unique dimension, offering a new perspective on the Kipper deck.
This deck, like the Lenormand, has become one of the best-known decks for reading and divination. What makes this deck unique and fascinating is the number of people it depicts. After drawing the cards, we become aware of the number of characters looking at us and the connections, questions, and relationships between them.
About the Kipper Deck
Throughout history, many great fortune tellers have been scattered across the globe. In France, we have the well-known Marie Anne Adelaide Lenormand, who originated the Lenormand system, later transformed into Petit Lenormand.
In Germany in 1870, more specifically in Bavaria, the Kipper deck was born. This deck takes its name from the great German fortune teller Suzanne Kipper. Suzanne Kipper learned the art of cartomancy from a Bohemian family. In her hometown of Berlin, she became quite well-known for her predictions, but when she decided to move to Bavaria, her popularity was no longer the same, as gypsies there had a bad reputation and Suzanne used a typical gypsy technique. Unable to use Lenormand cards, firstly because they were also used by gypsy people and secondly because at that time Germany was at war with France, therefore Germans had aversion and antipathy towards everything French, Suzanne decided to create her own deck with motifs and images that portray Germanic culture.
Kipper is a different type of cartomancy. Initially in Germany, it was a card game in the 18th century, and Suzanne Kipper, like Marie Lenormand, transformed it into a deck of 36 cards for divination at the end of the 19th century.
Although Kipper is similar to the Lenormand system in its origin and number of cards, it differs in that it offers more character cards. Kipper focuses more on people than on events or objects. This creates a feeling of romance with a touch of drama. Kipper is like Lenormand in that it works well for predictive readings, uses limited or fixed meanings per card, and speaks in a more direct and assertive way. The cards in a Kipper deck are usually read in triples or more.
With its symbolism and imagery heavily focused on people, Kipper is often used to provide insights into human relationships. This system of cartomancy is relatively unknown in most countries, but in Germany it has been known and loved for generations.
