The Gypsy Tarot deck consists of 36 cards, and their figures have psychological and cosmic significance. The cards of the Gypsy Tarot represent the living forces of nature and illustrate everyday situations. The Gypsy cards are an oracle that helps develop perception, with interpretations made through intuition and observation.

About the Lenormand Gypsy Tarot

This type of divination method – Lenormand – was created by Marie Anne Adelaide Lenormand, a French professional clairvoyant "fortune teller" of considerable fame during the Napoleonic era. In France, Lenormand is considered the greatest fortune teller of all time, highly influential in the wave of French cartomancy that began in the late 18th century.

She was known as "Sybille des Salons" or Sibyl of the Salons, and was the "trusted" reader who read the cards for Napoleon and Josephine Bonaparte. Her original deck had 52 cards and was published around 1828.

Initially, this deck had 52 cards, and a smaller version with 36 cards – the Petit Lenormand – was created around 1840 for better understanding. Each card has a specific number and symbol.

Its symbols are simple, objective, and have clear and precise meanings, leaving no doubt about the questions raised. The Gypsy Tarot is not an oracle to be studied or memorized; on the contrary, it uses the intuitive association and perception of the tarot reader to answer the questions presented.

The Lenormand deck is often called the Gypsy deck or Gypsy oracle.
