Description
Native peoples use the Holy Herb Torch or Holy Yerba for spiritual cleansing and environments. Its smoke has the power to create a protective energy field and is also widely used for rituals and ceremonies. Yerba Santa literally means sacred grass. This name was given because this herb is so unique.
Yerba Santa, is a sacred herb for the Chumash Indians in California, and grows in the arid mountainous areas of northern New Mexico, California and Oregon. This plant has many magical uses. One of the main ones is to burn it to nourish and protect what is ancient, sacred and wild. Use this plant in smoking whenever you need encouragement or courage
Yerba Santa is a female herb of the earth that creates a sense of beauty and calm in any space. Use the Holy Herb torch in your space to bring a sweet and heart-opening energy. You can also place it on your altar to increase psychic, healing energy and for protection of the Divine Feminine.
It is widely used after smoking with White Sage because it balances energy for a feeling of love and compassion.
It has also been used for love, purification, growth, empowerment and beauty, and to release emotional pain stored in the heart chakra – Anahata. The Yerba Santa torch can also be burned when it needs encouragement or courage, to nourish and protect what is ancient, sacred and wild within itself.
You can also place Yerba Santa next to sick people and ask the spirit of the herb for protection and healing.
It can be used in any Shamanic ceremony, especially those using master healing teacher plants like Ayahuasca and Iboga.
After lighting your Holy Herb torch, say your intention to the Holy Herb aloud. Depending on your reason for lighting it, your intention may be different.

How to Use
Just light one end of the Torch or use liturgical charcoal to burn in a metal or clay incense holder, to receive the ashes that will fall and to protect the places where they are placed from burns that may arise from those ashes.
You can use it several times, burning a little at a time.
– First of all, choose the right resin/touch/incense with your intention (healing, energetic cleansing, protection, harmonization, attunement with guides or angels, etc). Do not light incense just to give “smell” to the house. There is a whole spiritual process behind an incense ritual that must be respected. Any and all energy you “invoke” with incense will be available for your request. There are also elementals of nature that will be made available to be burned in your favor. It is our duty to show respect for this process.
– It should be placed in a metal or clay incense holder to receive the ashes that will fall and to protect the places where they are placed from burns that may arise from these ashes
– Light the torch/rod tip on a candle, match, or lighter flame
– Unite mentally with the smell and feel the peace that each one keeps within himself. It’s your time to relax. Make it your ritual of relaxation and meditation.
