About Tulsi Wood
Tulsi wood, which belongs to the basil family, is considered the most sacred of all woods in Hindu tradition. Tulsi is the most sacred of the forests of India and of Indian worship, and the Tulsi plant is believed to be the embodiment of the Divine itself. The Tulsi Mala is made from Tulsi wood or seeds and is used for chanting and worship.
Furthermore, the Tulsi Mala is said to have incredible spiritual and physical healing powers, as well as helping the mind to focus during prayers.
The benefits of Tulsi leaves are well-established, and due to their spiritual and physical healing powers, the touch of Tulsi wood acts as a rejuvenator for the stressed mind and brings it closer to the spiritual self. Furthermore, using the Tulsi Mala is believed to bring good luck and fortune to the dedicated user. It is said to balance the Kapha and Vata doshas. Tulsi cleanses the aura, and its subtle scent fills the heart with a feeling of the divine. The Tulsi Mala is also used to worship Lord Ram and Krishna, different incarnations of Lord Vishnu, who is believed to be the creator and beloved of this wood. Vishnu created Tulsi from the turbulent seas in order to help all of humanity.
According to Hindu Tradition
According to Hindu tradition, God says that whoever wears Tulsi wood beads around their neck, even if they are disheveled and ill-intentioned, will undoubtedly attain it. Sri Krishna will grant the fruit of being a resident of Dvarka (a sacred Hindu historical city) immediately to those who wear Tulsi beads around their neck. The sins/karma of the person who wears Tulsi beads around their neck with devotion, after offering them to Sri Vishnu, will be overcome, and Sri Krishna will always remain pleased with them and will no longer need to undergo expiation; there will be no more sins in their body. In Kali Yuga, someone adorned with Tulsi beads who performs ritual activities and activities pertaining to ancestors and demigods obtains millions of times greater results. Yama's messengers flee at the sight of Tulsi's beads.
In Skanda-purana (Hindu religious text), it is stated: – Those who wear neck beads made of Tulsi after offering them to Sri Hari are definitely among the devotees of the Lord. After presenting the mala, it should be purified with panca-gavya; after that, the Moola-mantra should be recited, followed by the recitation of Gayatri mantra eight times.
