Revered for its medicinal properties, Native Americans believe that the healing plant can provide a bridge to the spiritual realm through which smoking will carry their prayers. We can use the torch in the same way, by asking your power to eliminate negativity and open our minds to a higher spirituality. With a high consciousness, we ascended beyond the energy blocks that prevented our intentions from becoming reality. We are able to see situations more clearly and our mind becomes open to forgiveness, commitment, and other forms of emotional progress.
White Sage can have a significant impact when used after an argument, after an illness, before and after the holidays, after an intense workout, before meditation, when moving to a new space and during periods of mourning. To direct smoke, you can hold the Torch in an Abalone shell or a similar non-flammable bowl and use the other hand or a feather to send the smoke wherever you want it to go.
Along with its healing properties for the spirit, white Sage torch smoke can instantly neutralize all odors in your home, making it a safe and natural alternative to other ambient sprays or air purifiers. If you feel a feeling of heaviness in your home, it would also be a good time to give a smoking session in each compartment, which will clean and purify the air. You can also light these torches before any kind of therapeutic session, be it meditation, yoga or other self-treatment.

According to Native American culture, they believed that using abalone’s shell as a torch bowl and that it helps carry the messages to heaven. Since it is a product of the sea, they also believed that water should not come into contact with fire, and it is recommended to place a thin layer of sand at the bottom of its Abalone shell; will protect your iridescent mother-of-pearl glow from burn marks. The sand also holds up the ashes of the burnt White Sage as it quickly stops smoke when it finishes its Sage firing session.
Native Americans also believed that mother-of-pearl inside Abalone’s shell helps improve intuition and wisdom. It also contains healing properties that are known to drive feelings of compassion and creativity. When you perform a cleansing ritual with a shell of Abalone and white sage smoke, it helps to create a sense of purity and purpose. On a practical level, the Abalone shell also has a row of holes that can be used to place your feather from smoke or incense.
The concha of Abalone can also serve as a basis for burning incense cones or Holy Stick. When you combine the cleansing properties with other healing tools with white sage, it becomes strong enough to neutralize negative or low vibration energy that can seep in from the outside.
By using the shell of Abalone and White Sage for a cleaning practice, there is a connection between themselves and mother nature, to the highest vibrations on the planet.
