The Visconti-Sforza Tarot deck is one of the oldest and most complete Tarot decks ever, dating back to the middle of the century. Commissioned by Filippo Maria Visconti, Duke of Milan, and his successor, Francesco Sforza, many of the letters depict members of the Sforza and Visconti families in period costume. Originally designed for the then popular trion (triumphs) card game, over the next three centuries this deck became one of the most recognized tools.
